The problems Permit to Work fixes

Paper permits get signed after work has already started.
The same generic checklist is used for hot work and for work at height.
Nobody can prove where the checklist was filled in, or who let a gap through.
What you get

Built for how safety teams actually work

✓8 work types

Hot work, confined space, electrical, excavation, lifting, work at height, breaking containment and general high-risk.

✓Checklists per work type

Map each work type, per site if needed, to its own checklist built in Inspections. You can even import it from Excel.

✓GPS location check

The device location is captured when the checklist is filled and compared against the work spot the approver pinned.

✓One-tap approval

Approving moves the permit straight to Active and records the actual start time.

✓Deviations logged

Late approvals, failed critical items or a checklist filled far from site don't block work. Each one lands in the Compliance Exceptions log.

✓Branded PDF

Work details, checklist answers, locations, closure photo and sign-offs in one report.

Questions

Frequently asked

What happens if a critical checklist item fails?

The requestor sees a warning but can still submit. If a manager approves anyway, it is recorded as a compliance exception for review.

Can different sites use different checklists?

Yes. A site-specific mapping overrides the organisation-wide default for that work type.

What if location access is denied on the phone?

The permit shows “not captured” and carries on. A missing location never blocks raising or approving a permit.

Does it handle lockout/tagout?

Permits can link to a dedicated LOTO permit that tracks each isolation point and each person's lock.
